Our Services
ArcticLAS offers preclinical in vivo Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic studies.
ArcticLAS is a well established animal research facility and has experience in a variety of in vivo research models in mice and rats. We offer administration of test compounds to mice and rats, various routes of administration and choice of sample collection. We also offer custom protocol development and consulting.
Fast turnaround and effective communication improves customer’s involvement in the experiment and we focus on being flexible to meet sudden changes that can be expected in the field of drug development.
Studies
Pharmacokinetic (PK)
Is a process by which a drug is absorbed, distributed, metabolized and eliminated by a body.
ADME
Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion.
Diabetics models
Primary screening and dose response studies: ArcticLAS offers dose response studies with evaluation of the effect of test compounds on blood glucose and body weight.
Collagen induced arthritis
The collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mouse model is the most commonly studied autoimmune model of rheumatoid arthritis. Autoimmune arthritis is induced in this model by immunization with an emulsion of complete Freund's adjuvant and type II collagen (CII).
Oncology
Oncology using immunocompromised animas that requires barrier unit.
Rat and Mouse MTD
Our staff will work with you to customize programs which can include Maximum Tolerated dose (MTD), as well as PK studies
Pharmacodynamic
In contrast to pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic tells us what the drug does to the body. It referst to the relationship between the drug and its concentration at the side of the action and the resulting effect, including the time course and intensity of therapeutic and adverse effects.
Blood pressure measurements – Tail-cuff method
Blood pressure measurements using Non-Invasive Blood Pressure System - Tail Cuff Method. Measuring 6 blood pressure parameters: systolic, diastolic and mean blood pressure, heart rate, tail blood volume and blood flow.
Conditioned taste aversion, CTA
,,Conditioned taste aversion” is used to estimate if compound produce discomfort to animals.
Surgical models
Wide experience in models requiring simple surgical procedures.
